Hurons Drop 5-2 Decision
Atlanta pitcher Frank Combs had a large part in his team subduing the Toronto Hurons, 5-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the right-hander. The winner was Combs. He threw 8.0 innings of 6-hit ball. The loser was Larry Haines. Atlanta has now won 5 straight, while the Hurons have lost 3 in a row.

Steve Walp, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1968 draft, had a timely hit in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two out and the bases loaded, the Atlanta left fielder hit a 2-run single. That put the Generals in front, 4-2.
