Traders Walk It Off for 2nd Win of Season
The Chicago Traders sent the home crowd home ecstatic.

The Chicago Traders did just enough to sneak past the Milwaukee Dairymen, 5-4, at Union Field. Chicago pitcher Skip Crawford, in particular, had a standout performance. Randy Weisenberg, now 1-0, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 3 hits in 2 innings.

The defining moment came in the bottom of the ninth for Chicago. That's when Walt McCord hit a run-scoring double off 23-year old left-handed pitcher Bernie Kirk to win the game. The home crowd went wild.

"We couldn't have scripted it any better," McCord said in his postgame press conference.

The loss makes Milwaukee 3-3.
