The St. Louis Explorers beat the Milwaukee Dairymen, 9-3, at Milwaukee Municipal Stadium. St. Louis left fielder Chuck Panetta led the way. He went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3. The Explorers move to 25-27 with the win, while the Dairymen drop to 29-23.
In the top of the seventh, the Explorers grabbed the lead when Panetta hit his 5th home run of the season. The 2-run home run off Lewis Smith made it 5-3, St. Louis.
"It never gets old," said Panetta. "Winning, that is."
