Emeralds Sneak Past Pobladores, 3-2

Los Angeles got a valiant performance from pitcher Steve Turner, but it wasn't enough to beat the Seattle Emeralds. Seattle won the game, 3-2. Turner threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball for the losing team. Dave Alexander notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. His record now sits at 3-1. Seattle, now 18-32, holds down 5th place in the American Baseball League Western Division.
Seattle used a clutch hit from Larry Ritter to get the win. The first baseman drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Emeralds ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"If you ever get this game figured out," said Los Angeles manager Kurt Peterson, "let me know."
