Bluebirds Rally For Late Win Over Knickerbockers
The Brooklyn Bluebirds powered past the New York Knickerbockers, 9-6, at Flatbush Park. Bob Rawlins was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2, to lead the charge. Brooklyn goes to 32-19, New York to 28-23.

The Knickerbockers had been locked in a 6-6 tie with the Bluebirds going into the bottom of the eighth inning. That changed quickly when the 1971 Rookie of the Year Award winner Greg Landrum came to the plate. Landrum hit a 2-run double on a 1-0 changeup from New York hurler Tim Fried. It was Landrum's 10th double of the year.

"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Rawlins told the Brooklyn Daily.
