Toronto picked up a win at Dominion Field, bumping off the New York Empires, 7-6. Pitcher Mike Beers was a major reason the Hurons emerged victorious. The triumph makes Toronto 17-33.

Had Roberto Hinojosa not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Hinojosa hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Hurons.

"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Hinojosa said.
