Houston turned a good performance from starting pitcher Syed Farooqi into a 7-1 triumph over the Twin Cities Northmen at Sam Houston Field. With the win, Houston upped its record to 29-22.

Wade Fields was 2-4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Houston. The 25-year old third baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With no one out and a runner on 2nd, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring single off Jeff Jordan. It was his 38th hit of the season.

"Syed's as tough as he is talented," said Houston manager Steven Palps.
