Despite a great performance by San Francisco left fielder Rick Stafne, the Seattle Emeralds defeated the Seagulls by the score of 7-4 at Puget Field. Stafne was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The save went to Darrell Klug, his 14th this season. Seattle goes to 25-25, San Francisco to 30-23.

The Emeralds got a big at-bat from third baseman Fabien Fleury. For the game, Fleury was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Seattle a 2-1 lead.

"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Fleury.
