Bluebirds Earn Win with Late Rally
|
Brooklyn parlayed a decent outing from starter Jorge Sandoval into a solid win over the New York Knickerbockers. The final score was 3-2. The winner in relief was Bob Hill. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He now owns a record of 3-3. The save went to Kevin Wade, number 1 for him.
Brooklyn took a 3-2 lead on Mike Bennett's 6th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Bennett hit in the bottom of the eighth, left New York pitcher Tim Fried visibly frustrated.
Bennett told the Brooklyn Daily: "Win or lose, I don't want to see our team outhustled."
The Bluebirds have an impressive 33-19 record.
