Thanks in large part to center fielder Tom Crowell, the Cleveland Bobcats beat the Philadelphia Quakers, 10-5. Crowell went 2-3 with 2 singles and 2 walks. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Rick Tomlinson earned the win to go to 3-5. He allowed 5 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts in 6 innings of work. Picking up the save was Joe Clabaugh, his 10th.

Benito Olivas, the 4th overall pick in the 1969 draft, aided the Cleveland cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the sixth. For the game, the second baseman was 2 for 4 with 2 singles. He scored 2 times.
