Wranglers Lose to Seagulls, 6-1
|
Tim Stambaugh brought his A-game to help San Francisco defeat the Dallas Wranglers, 6-1. Stambaugh, now 8-2, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 9 hits, while striking out 7, walking 0, and allowing 1 run. The 6th-place Wranglers have dropped 4 straight games.
Bobby Tapia had a big 2-run double for the Seagulls in the bottom of the fifth inning. With San Francisco leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a curveball from Ed Payne, who is tied for 4th in the ABL in wins with 6, and swatted a double to left-center. It was his 10th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Seagulls ahead, 3-0.
Afterward, Dallas manager William Albrecht said: "We've hit a rough patch."
