Wolverines Beat Lords, 5-2

The Detroit Wolverines knocked off the Baltimore Lords, 5-2, in American Baseball League action at Wolverine Field. Detroit pitcher and Farragut, Tennessee, native Scott Litwak had an outstanding performance. Litwak, now 4-3, was the winner. In 7.1 innings, he gave up 10 hits, while striking out 4, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. With the win, Detroit raised its record to 26-26.
The Wolverines got a big at-bat from second baseman Steve Tingle. For the game, Tingle went 1 for 3 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 3rd triple of the season gave Detroit a 4-2 lead.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Detroit manager Kurt Peterson.
