Burros Lose, 8-6, at Roman Arena
|
Not everyone stuck through the 21-minute rain delay, but those who did went home happy.
No one was more impactful than Stan Timmons in the 8-6 Cincinnati win over Denver. Timmons, the 21st overall pick in the 1968 draft, went 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 3 runs. Cincinnati currently is in 6th place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division at 23-31.
Making an impact for Cincinnati was third baseman David Davalos. Whirlwind drilled a run-scoring double off Willie Purter in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, Davalos went 1-4 with a double.
"It's nice to come out on top today," said Davalos.
