Explorers Win with Late Heroics
The St. Louis Explorers topped the Kansas City Bulls, 3-2, in National Baseball League action at Corps of Discovery Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of St. Louis pitcher Dick Lott. Kansas City falls to 3-3.

The decisive blow was delivered by Tom Guinn in the bottom of the tenth when he hit a run-scoring double off 32-year old left-handed pitcher Dave Fields to win the game for St. Louis. The home crowd went nuts.

"To become 'battle-tested,'" said Guinn, "you need to compete in this kind of contest."
