Knickerbockers Improve to 28-25 with 3-2 Win
|
Alex Fonseca, who finished 5th in the NBL in wins with 17 in 1972, pitched well, but the Washington Eagles still fell short, losing, 3-2, to the New York Knickerbockers at Monument Field. New York has won 3 straight, while Washington has lost 3 in a row.
Steve Wells had a direct impact on the outcome. Wells contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the first inning to put New York up, 3-0.
