Detroit Wins, Trumping Baltimore, 5-2

The home crowd had a good time watching the Baltimore Lords and Detroit Wolverines get after it.
Detroit Wolverines starter Juan Rodriguez pitched well against the Baltimore Lords at Wolverine Field, leading his team to a win, 5-2. Rodriguez picked up the win for Detroit, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 6 hits. He now sports a record of 6-3.
Troy Stallings had a big bases-clearing double for the Wolverines in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Detroit leading 2-1 and the bases loaded, he got a curveball from fan favorite Kenny Wilson and swatted a double to left. It was his 8th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Wolverines ahead, 5-1.
"I thought we played a nice game," Stallings told the Detroit Bulletin. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
By defeating Baltimore, the 4th-place Wolverines improved to 27-26.
