Emeralds Pin 6-3 Loss on Toronto
|
Roberto Salazar made an impact in the 6-3 Seattle win over Toronto. Salazar, who is tied for 7th in the ABL in triples with 3, went 2-3 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Dave Gilson, the winner, improved to 1-4. He held the Hurons to 3 runs on 4 hits over 7 innings, while striking out 0 and walking 2. Phil Moore earned the save for Seattle, his 7th.
With Seattle leading 2-0 in the bottom of the second, Salazar hit a fastball from Bill John for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Emeralds ahead, 5-0.
"Not the sexiest win," said Emeralds manager Mark Velez, "but I'll take it."
The Emeralds now have a record of 29-24 with the win over Toronto.
