Seagulls Rally to Nose Past Dallas
|
San Francisco beat Dallas on the strength of starting pitcher Reggie Wright's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 4-3. San Francisco, at 36-19, is 4½ games up in the American Baseball League Western Division.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, 28-year old left fielder Steve Ostler had a real shot to win the game. Dallas pitcher Ken Craig was determined not to let it happen. But with one out, Ostler hit a 2-run single. The Seagulls had a walk-off triumph.
"Exhilarating win," said Ostler.
