Burros Get Thrilling 9-8 Win
The Denver Burros and Pittsburgh Industrials put on quite a show.

The Denver Burros powered past the Pittsburgh Industrials, 9-8, in 14 innings at Allegheny Field. Dick Hoffmeier went 3-6 with a home run and a double, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once, to lead the charge. Joe Hamby earned the save for Denver, his 15th.

Guillermo Morales was 1-6 with a walk. He drove in 2 runs for Denver. The three-time All-Star had a key at-bat in the top of the 14th. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 8-8 tie with a run-scoring walk off Jeff Butler. It was his 31st walk of the season.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Clark Anderson, the Denver skipper.

The first-place Burros have won 4 consecutive games.
