The Kansas City Bulls spoiled a good performance by Chicago second baseman Rafael Fuentes, bumping off Chicago, 6-5, at Union Field. Fuentes was 3 for 5 with 3 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Kansas City reliever Andy Luce picked up the win, upping his record to 4-1. Jimmy Calhoun absorbed the loss. Kansas City now sports a record of 24-30.

Kansas City used the timely hitting of John Villalobos to seize the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Bulls on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I like the grit of this ballclub," Villalobos said.
