Eagles Losing Streak at 5 After Extra-Inning Loss to Knickerbockers
|
The New York Knickerbockers defeated the Washington Eagles, 6-3, in 10 innings. Doing his part was third baseman Bob White, who went 1 for 3 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Washington, at 18-36, has lost 5 straight.
White had a game-changing home run in the top of the tenth. On a 2-2 slider from Curt Kirkley, he banged a grand slam home run to right-center, giving the Knickerbockers a 6-2 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for White.
"It took some blood and sweat, but we got what we were after," said Knickerbockers manager Timothy Widholm.
