Empires Deal Generals 7-1 Loss
The New York Empires picked up a win at Atlantic Station Field, dropping the Atlanta Generals, 7-1, in 12 innings. Andy Humphrey, who is tied for 10th in the ABL in quality starts with 8, was the difference-maker. The Empires now have a record of 32-23 with the win over Atlanta.

The game was at a stalemate until second baseman Javier Abarca came to bat in the top of the 12th. Facing Atlanta pitcher Ron Bargiel, he hit a first pitch fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting New York on top, 2-1.

"Enjoyed this one," Abarca told the New York Daily. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
