Hawks Edge Pobladores, 2-1
|
Chicago Hawks starter Armando Estrada worked his magic, to help his team defeat the Los Angeles Pobladores, 2-1. With this game in the books, Chicago is 22-32, Los Angeles 28-27.
Had Paul Backer not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, Backer hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Hawks.
"We came out on the wrong end of this one," said Los Angeles skipper Kurt Peterson.
