Milwaukee Gets 3-1 Win
|
The Milwaukee Dairymen went home winners at Quakers Stadium, thanks in large part to starter Dan Valenti. Valenti stifled the Philadelphia Quakers, enabling Milwaukee to grab the 3-1 win. Valenti, the winner, moves to 3-4. He threw 6.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 4 and giving up 3 walks. By defeating Philadelphia, the third-place Dairymen improved to 28-26.
Reggie Bryce, who is on pace for 102 RBI this season, had a direct impact on the outcome. Bryce contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put Milwaukee up, 1-0.
"Makes our job easier," said Bryce, "when our pitchers shut the opposition down."
