The New York Empires trumped the Detroit Wolverines, 5-2, at Wolverine Field. New York third baseman Rick Lintner was terrific. He went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. The victory gives the Empires a record of 31-24.

Lintner contributed in the top of the fifth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a single. It was one at-bat among others that helped New York get the win.

"Rick was ready to go. Big day for him," said New York manager Jose Placeholder.
