Both teams had their chances, but the Montreal Habitants eventually prevailed.
Montreal pitcher Lawrence Connor did his part in helping his team beat the Boston Terriers, 3-2. The left-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Connor picked up the win for Montreal, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 3 hits. He now sports a record of 4-1.
Marvin Walker, who was drafted in the 3rd round of the 1967 draft, helped out the Montreal cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. For the game, the catcher drove in one run.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon.
The win gives Montreal a season record of 28-27.
