At Independence Field, the Los Angeles Blockbusters and Kansas City Bulls were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.

Riding the 3-hit performance of the 1976 NBL home run champion Chris Taylor, the Kansas City Bulls stopped the Los Angeles Blockbusters, 8-1, in 9 innings. With the win, Kansas City upped its record to 32-24.

With Kansas City leading 2-0 in the bottom of the fifth, Taylor hit a fastball from Ken Morrison for a 2-run home run. It was his 14th home run of the season and put the Bulls ahead, 4-0.

Said losing manager John Trausch: "At the end of the day, we've got to play better."
