Packers Score 4-3 Win Over Washington
|
The Cincinnati Packers picked up a win at Monument Field, knocking off the Washington Eagles, 4-3. Starting pitcher Dave Pelton was a big reason why. Pelton yielded 3 runs over 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 10 hits, walked 3, and struck out 4. His record improves to 5-3. Cincinnati is in last place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division with a record of 22-34.
Ron Brown, who is tied for 4th in the NBL in triples with 4, aided the Cincinnati cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder was 2-4 with 2 singles.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Brown, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
