Rick Giardina was instrumental in his team's 9-6 triumph over the Seattle Emeralds. The catcher was 2 for 4 with a double and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 4 for the Twin Cities Northmen. With Twin Cities leading 5-4 in the top of the seventh, Giardina hit a fastball from Sergio Cisneros for a bases-clearing double. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Northmen ahead, 8-4.

"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Giardina told the Twin Cities Daily News.

The Northmen saw their record improve to 25-30.
