The Houston Drillers overcame a pretty good performance by Los Angeles center fielder Joe Roberson, beating the Pobladores, 6-5, at Sam Houston Field. Roberson went 4-4 with a home run, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Houston is now 25-31. Los Angeles is 29-28.

Houston took the lead, 6-5, on Rich Lewis's 5th home run of the season. The 3-run home run came off Los Angeles pitcher Rick Golia in the bottom of the eighth.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Lewis.
