Emeralds Go Down to Defeat, 5-1
|
Twin Cities Northmen starter Ben Hall was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Seattle Emeralds, 5-1. Hall, now 5-4, was the winner. In 9 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 1 run. The 5th-place Northmen have won 4 in a row.
Buddy Shingleton had a big 2-run triple for the Northmen in the bottom of the third inning. With Twin Cities leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he got a splitter from former first round draft pick Rob Banas and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 1st triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Northmen ahead, 3-0.
"I like our mindset right now," said Twin Cities manager Jason Gudim.
