Captains Rally Late to Nip Traders
Union Field was the site of a tense game between the Chicago Traders and San Diego Captains.

San Diego starter Jack DeWitt pitched well against the Chicago Traders at Union Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 2-1. Earning his 6th save for San Diego was Ed Prater.

Tom Row provided a timely hit. The San Diego shortstop delivered a run-scoring triple in the top of the eighth inning to put the Captains on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in the game, but he made it count.

"The old adage is true," said Row. "Good pitching stops good hitting."

The win elevated the Captains to 32-27.
