The New York Knickerbockers picked up a win at Roman Arena, knocking off the Cincinnati Packers, 12-2. Starting pitcher Dave Torre was a big reason why. The Knickerbockers are now 34-24.

New York used the hitting of Steve Wright to pick up the win. The shortstop clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Knickerbockers on top, 7-0. For the game, Wright had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"I think we did a good job of looking for pitches we wanted to hit and put good swings on them," said New York skipper William Bowen.
