The Washington Eagles did just enough to secure a victory over the Cincinnati Packers, 4-3, in 11 innings at Roman Arena. Nobody did more than pitcher Alex Fonseca. Washington, at 20-37, occupies last place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division.

Americo Garcia came through with a big-time hit for Washington. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the 11th inning to give his team the lead, 4-3. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.

"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Fonseca.
