Stambaugh, Seagulls Finish Off Northmen, 8-1
The San Francisco Seagulls beat the Twin Cities Northmen, 8-1, at Twin Cities Stadium. Starting pitcher Tim Stambaugh was a big reason why. He held his opponent in check all game. After losing, Twin Cities is 3-3.

Stambaugh's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 6 strikeouts in 9 innings while allowing 5 hits. Stambaugh, who finished 4th in the ABL in ERA with 2.51 in 1969, goes to 1-0 on the year with 12 strikeouts.

"Tim gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said San Francisco skipper Al Borie.
