Drillers Deal Pobladores 4-2 Loss
Bill Switzer, who finished 4th in the ABL in saves with 20 in 1972, had a strong outing for the Houston Drillers against the Los Angeles Pobladores at San Vicente Park. The left-hander was a big part of his team's 4-2 win. The win was credited to Jeff Ferguson in relief. His record improves to 4-1. Shane Frassrand took the loss. The Drillers bumped their record to 35-23 with this latest triumph.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Rich Lewis? The 26-year old catcher Lewis stroked a 2-run double in the top of the 11th inning to put Houston up, 4-2. For the game, he was 2 for 5, including 1 double and 1 single.

"It was terrific getting this win," Lewis said. "We put in a lot of work to do it."
