Eagles Lose at Home, 5-4
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials did just enough to sneak past the Washington Eagles, 5-4, at Monument Field. Pittsburgh pitcher John Fagan, in particular, had a standout performance. Ike Travis, credited with the save, is now 3 for 4 in save opportunities. With the win, Pittsburgh raised its record to 36-25.
Pittsburgh used a well-timed hit by Rob Isenbarger to capture the win. The second baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Industrials ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 3 at-bats, it was important.
"John gets tougher when he has to, makes a big pitch when he has to," said Pittsburgh skipper Vincent Wicker.
