Brooklyn Bluebirds starter Jorge Sandoval pitched his team past the New York Knickerbockers, 4-2. The win lifted the Brooklyn record to 32-28.

With Brooklyn leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Sandoval hit a 2-run single off New York hurler Ray Schifsky. It was the 7th hit of the season for Sandoval and put his team ahead, 3-0.

"Jorge is good at sticking to his strengths," said Brooklyn manager John Meeker.
