Traders Deal Eagles 4-0 Loss
|
Chicago Traders pitcher Larry Cox was in fine form, leading his team past the Washington Eagles, 4-0. The winning pitcher was Cox, now 4-4. He tossed 7.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 1 and fanning 4. With the win, the Traders hiked their record to 29-28.
The outcome was still in doubt with two out in the bottom of the fourth inning, but Cox was able to pitch out of a jam. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Washington trailing 2-0, Cox retired Jerry Duersch, who struck out.
