Bluebirds Lose to Knickerbockers, 4-3
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the New York Knickerbockers and Brooklyn Bluebirds.
The New York Knickerbockers scored a tight, 4-3 win versus the Brooklyn Bluebirds at Knickerbocker Stadium. New York pitcher Chris Hull held his own in the contest. Wayne Houston closed the door for New York, picking up his 9th save of the year.
Bob Marston dealt the Bluebirds a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with runners on 1st and 2nd and New York leading 3-0, Marston hit a 2-2 cutter for a run-scoring single.
After the game, New York manager Sean Kelly applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
With the win over Brooklyn, the Knickerbockers improved to 29-30.
