In a low-scoring contest between the Brooklyn Bluebirds and the New York Knickerbockers, Dave Gaultney, who is tied for 10th in the NBL with a 2.35 ERA, proved to be the difference. The Brooklyn left-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Bluebirds win. The Bluebirds sit in 4th place in the National Baseball League Eastern Division with a record of 30-29.

Brooklyn needed the clutch hitting of Ernie White to seal the deal. The second baseman swatted a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Bluebirds on top, 3-1. For the game, White had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"Dave was doing a good job pouring in strikes," said Brooklyn manager John Meeker.
