Toronto Hurons starter Joe Scott was in the groove. He led his team to a win over the New York Empires, 2-1. Toronto reliever Don LeoGrande picked up the win, upping his record to 1-1. Nate Frampton was saddled with the loss. The loss drops New York to 2-4.

Toronto took a 2-1 lead on Dave Bears's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run came off New York pitcher Nate Frampton in the bottom of the eighth.

Bears told a Toronto Chronicle reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
