Chicago Keeps Spiraling Downward
The Cleveland Bobcats extended their winning streak.

The Cleveland Bobcats licked the Chicago Traders, 6-4. Keith MacPherson deserved a big chunk of the credit. The third baseman went 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Bobcats. Rick Tomlinson, the winner, is now 7-3. He struck out 2 and walked 6 over 7 innings, while allowing 3 runs on 4 hits.

With Cleveland leading 3-0 in the bottom of the third, MacPherson hit a splitter from Bobby Peters for a 2-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Bobcats ahead, 5-0.

"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Larry Link.

The Bobcats have now reeled off 8 straight wins.
