Gillespie Goes Deep Twice, Helps Quakers Top Burros, 4-0

Philadelphia and Denver got after it at Gates Crescent Park.
A 4-RBI performance from center fielder Manny Gillespie, who is tied for 2nd in the NBL in triples with 6, led the Philadelphia Quakers to a win over the Denver Burros, 4-0. The winning pitcher was Juan Ramirez. His record is now 5-3. The right-hander went 7.2 innings, allowing no runs on 5 hits for the Quakers.
In the top of the second of a scoreless game, Gillespie hit a 2-run home run to put his team ahead.
"Win or lose, we always try to grind it out and stay even-keeled," Gillespie said in reaction to the win.
Philadelphia has 3 straight wins, Denver 3 straight losses.
