The Twin Cities Northmen downed the Atlanta Generals, 10-7. The hitting star was left fielder Greg Clement. Clement was 3-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He scored 3 times for the Northmen. Curt Kirkley picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 3-1. Dick McCranie suffered the loss. Joe Gibson notched his 6th save in 8 chances.

Twin Cities used the timely hitting of Emil Wathen to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Northmen on top, 10-7. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"I'm a bit of a clubhouse prankster," said Clement. "But it's all business when we're on the field."

Twin Cities is in second place in the American Baseball League Western Division with a record of 35-26.
