|
Behind the hitting of Jeff Murchison, the Philadelphia Quakers stopped the San Diego Captains, 5-3. Murchison went 3-5 with a home run and a triple, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Quakers. Juan Ramirez, the winning pitcher, is now 6-6. He went 8.2 innings, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 3. Darrell Klug notched his 7th save of the season.
In the top of the sixth, the Quakers took the lead, 4-2, when fan favorite Juan Ramirez hit a sacrifice fly.
"That's a solid team effort right there," said Murchison. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."
Philadelphia improves to 38-23 with the win. They lead their division by 5 games.
