Eagles Sneak By Industrials, 5-4
|
The Pittsburgh Industrials got a superb performance from pitcher Ron Winder, but the Washington Eagles still won the game, 5-4. Winder threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. The win puts the Eagles at 33-29, while the Industrials drop to 33-30.
Mike Lockhart came through with a big-time hit for Washington. The right fielder smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 5-4. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
After the game, Washington manager Juan Placeholder applauded the team's effort. "We put some good AB's together," he said.
