Wolverines Rally Late to Clip Chicago

The Detroit Wolverines had to overcome a fine effort from Chicago pitcher Kevin Edwards to win, 5-4, at Wolverine Field. Edwards went 7 innings and allowed 3 runs. Detroit reliever Fred Harrison picked up the win, upping his record to 9-1. Ron Woods took the loss. Detroit now has a record of 33-28 with the win.
Batting in the bottom of the ninth, former first round draft pick Larry Adams had a real shot to win the game. Chicago pitcher Ron Woods was determined not to let it happen. But with two outs, Adams hit a run-scoring single. The Wolverines had a walk-off triumph.
Adams described the clubhouse as "kind of rowdy" after the game.
