The Philadelphia Quakers picked up a win at Quakers Stadium, taking down the Pittsburgh Industrials, 6-3. Starting pitcher Mel Hartman was a big reason why. Darrell Klug closed the game out for Philadelphia, earning his 12th save. Philadelphia is now 35-26, Pittsburgh 36-26.

Luis Banda took Pittsburgh hurler Dennis Visco deep in the bottom of the first. His 2-run home run put the Quakers on top, 2-0. In all, Banda had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"Mel is a gamer," said Philadelphia manager Jeff Green.
