Captains 7-3 Winners Versus Brooklyn
A good performance from center fielder Bob Anderson helped the San Diego Captains defeat the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 7-3. Anderson was 3 for 4 with a triple and 2 doubles. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Captains. San Diego, at 34-29, occupies third place in the National Baseball League Western Division.

With San Diego leading 3-2 in the bottom of the fifth, Anderson hit a cutter from Dave Gaultney for a run-scoring double. It was his 7th double of the season and put the Captains ahead, 4-2.

"Our goal is to improve each and every day," Anderson told the San Diego Chronicle.
