Quakers Lose to Knickerbockers, 3-1
|
Jack Forbes was on the winning side of a pitcher's duel at Knickerbocker Stadium. In fact, the New York Knickerbockers right-hander was instrumental in his team's 3-1 victory over the Philadelphia Quakers. Forbes, the winner, moves to 1-1. He threw 6.2 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 7 and giving up 1 walk. The win puts New York at 3-4.
Making an impact for New York was center fielder Steve Hudson. He drilled a double off Fred Harrison in the bottom of the second. For the game, Hudson went 1-3 with a double.
"Jack's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Timothy Widholm, the Knickerbockers manager.
