Dairymen Deal Chicago 2-0 Defeat
|
In a low-scoring contest, Milwaukee pitcher Randy Adams was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 2-0 win. The winning pitcher was Adams, now 5-3. He tossed 7.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 5. Arnie Keilman wrapped it up, recording his 10th save.
The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Arnie Keilman didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 3rd and Chicago trailing 2-0, Keilman retired John Sledd to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Keilman, with a wink.
Milwaukee now has a record of 30-30 with the win.
