Toronto left-hander Tommy Lloyd helped his team edge Montreal by the score of 3-2. Lloyd kept the opposing lineup in check. Herman Gagne snagged the win in relief. He goes to 3-1 on the season. Hervé Lelièvre suffered the loss. The Hurons, at 28-35, sit in 6th place in the American Baseball League Eastern Division.

Jack Banes, who was drafted in the 2nd round of the 1970 draft, helped out the Toronto cause in the bottom of the eighth inning with a 2-run home run. For the game, the left fielder went 1 for 3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.

"We need better swings, better at-bats," said losing manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon.
