Hawks Suffer 3-2 Home Loss
|
In a tight tilt between the Houston Drillers and the Chicago Hawks, Francisco Castro was the deciding factor. The Houston right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win. Castro, now 5-5, was the winner. In 8.2 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 3, walking 2, and allowing 2 runs. Warner Manning recorded the save, his 3rd.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Mark Sisson? The Houston center fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the fifth inning to put the Drillers on top, 3-0. For the game, Sisson had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
Sisson attributed the win to his team's "collective resolve."
The Drillers now have a mark of 34-29.
