Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Brooklyn Bluebirds and New York Knickerbockers.

Brooklyn turned a good effort from starter Jorge Sandoval into a win over the New York Knickerbockers at Knickerbocker Stadium. The Bluebirds won the game, 3-2. New York now is 4-3.

Sandoval contributed in the top of the fifth. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a run-scoring single. It was one at-bat among others that helped Brooklyn get the win.

"Jorge just settled in and did what he does," said Brooklyn manager John Meeker.
