Northmen Raise Rally Flag, Beat Dallas, 5-3
|
Dave Church, who is tied for 2nd in the ABL in wins with 8, had a strong outing for the Twin Cities Northmen against the Dallas Wranglers at Bluff Park. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 5-3 win. Joe Gibson earned the win after being summoned from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 5-3. The win makes Twin Cities 37-26.
Buddy Shingleton, who won the Rookie of the Year Award in 1963, helped out the Twin Cities cause in the top of the ninth inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the shortstop went 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2.
"It doesn't matter if you're 10 games over .500 or 10 games under, it feels good to win," Shingleton told the Twin Cities Chronicle.
