Big Day for Morales in 9-3 Burros Win
A good performance from center fielder Guillermo Morales helped the Denver Burros defeat the New York Knickerbockers, 9-3. Morales was 3 for 4 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2 for the Burros. Willie Purter snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits over 2.2 innings. He's now 2-0 on the season. The Burros lead the National Baseball League Western Division by 4½ games.
