Barron Schools Seattle in 2-0 Montreal Triumph
|
LaSalle Stadium featured a tense pitchers' duel.
The Montreal Habitants claimed a close win over the Seattle Emeralds, due in large part to Rich Barron. The Montreal right-hander pitched a great game to secure the 2-0 win. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Habitants.
Barron, a native of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was dealing all game. He kept Seattle hitters off-balance, while giving the Habitants 7 quality innings. Barron threw 100 pitches, allowing 1 hit and striking out 6.
"I liked his command," said Montreal manager Michel Alexandre Cauchon. "Rich was throwing strikes."
