Win Lifts Wolverines to 31-30
|
Behind the bravura of right fielder Jerry Plumley, the Detroit Wolverines topped the Toronto Hurons by the score of 8-3. Plumley was 2 for 4 with 2 singles and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Wolverines. The victory gives the Wolverines a record of 31-30.
Detroit won the game in part because of Steve Hudson. The center fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Wolverines ahead, 8-0. For the game, Hudson had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"This team's hitting on all cylinders," said Wolverines manager Kurt Peterson.
