Riojas Helps Cincinnati Cruise to 11-2 Win
The home crowd had a good time watching the Brooklyn Bluebirds and Cincinnati Packers get after it.

The Cincinnati Packers soundly defeated the Brooklyn Bluebirds, 11-2, at Roman Arena. Manny Riojas, who finished 4th in the ABL in slugging percentage with .453 in 1967, let his bat do the talking. He hit 2 home runs. He drove in 3 runs and scored twice for Cincinnati. Joe Clabaugh, the winning pitcher, is now 1-1. He went 9 innings, allowing 2 runs on 7 hits, while fanning 4 and walking 1.

With Cincinnati leading 1-0 in the bottom of the first, Riojas hit a slider from Dick Conway for a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put the Packers ahead, 3-0.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Riojas. "You've got to get results."

The defeat makes Brooklyn 2-5.
